Speaker 1: (00:01)
Okay.
Speaker 2: (00:02)
Hey Sherry, how are you?
Speaker 1: (00:05)
Good. How are you Tiffany? Long time. No, see, I know, I know. I need to come visit.
Speaker 2: (00:12)
I know. That was fine. I the last time you were at the Keto place, it was so good.
Speaker 1: (00:17)
Yeah, that was so good. I want that car.
Speaker 2: (00:20)
I know, I know. I do too, but I’m too lazy to go down there and takes too long. I’m like, no, I’ll just make my own. It’s still good. So, um, so yeah, I’m really excited. I know you just started a new business re like was it recently or was it a couple months ago?
Speaker 1: (00:38)
So I’ve had it for like two years, but I didn’t really make it like legit until September. We actually got this space that I’m in right now, so we actually have an overhead and then actually last night. Okay. Last night I uh, my battery’s low last night. I actually feel that all my LLC forms and officially today, right before this call I got the email that says congratulations. You are now an LLC. So big time.
Speaker 2: (01:10)
Wow. Congratulations. Thanks. Yeah, it was fun. So it’s officially like legit, legit with your LLC. I love that. That’s awesome. So, okay, cool. So, and then what kind of business do you have? What, what do you do for Your Business?
Speaker 1: (01:27)
Oh, a paint studio. People can come and they can do paintings here. We do like wine and canvas. I do kids camps. I do all kinds of great, just fun interactive paintings. Okay. Um, I’m at the studio right now. Um, but they can just come in. I mean, I paintings all over the walls. They, I usually have a calendar of events and then they can pick from the calendar of events and they can pick what painting they want to do and they come in and we just have a good time. So I like it. It sounds fine. Yeah. Listen, awesome masterpiece.
Speaker 2: (02:05)
Yeah, that sounds so cool. That’s amazing. So yeah, for you right now, um, so you said you weren’t really, you’ve had it for two years, but you just first or you just start like when did you get your space?
Speaker 1: (02:16)
Right? So September we actually got our space. Okay. So we have really, um, I was in a totally different place than my husband was on this whole thing. I was like, I need a space. And he’s like, no, we’re fine. Like at your okay. Traveling. And I’m like, I’m not okay traveling. I need a space. So will we actually, I really prayed on it a lot and really thought about it a lot and like, okay, this perfect space is going to come. Just kind of manifested at all in my head and it all turned out awesome. So that part has been super great. But now I’m like a little stuck. Okay. Like it’s just not where I want it to be financially. So we’re making the overhead, but there’s nothing, so I’m not getting paid. I’m broke. I am seriously a starving artist. That’s what I tell people.
Speaker 2: (03:12)
Okay. So financially making the overhead but nothing extra.
Speaker 1: (03:18)
Right. All right. And then you can get, there’s a lot of great opportunities where I’m being able to yeah. And the public in order to, um, okay. Mark and introduce myself to a lot of people. So that’s great. And we just started a TV show. I’m not sure if he saw that helpful too, but I’m not having people come into the studio, so I need to get them through the door
Speaker 2: (03:46)
conversions. You’re not having conversion. Yeah. Okay.
Speaker 1: (03:49)
Got It.
Speaker 2: (03:50)
Yeah, because your product is like what you’re doing in the service that you’re offering. It’s great. And you’re, you’re so funny. When you paint, you crack me up. Your personalities like amazing. So when people come there, they’re going to have so much fun and like women love the wine and painting. I mean, oh my God. Right. Yeah.
Speaker 1: (04:09)
Really, really good time. And I mean, there’s everyone from like hardcore soccer moms to like church going, grandma’s in here, even husbands come in and we just, we really have a great, great time and it’s just all these different personalities coming together through art, which is amazing.
Speaker 2: (04:29)
Oh yeah. That’s, that’s awesome. I love it. Okay, so let me, um, let me kind of, I want to scan it and too deeply and just kind of see what I’m getting, like the block is, or just if there’s any advice coming through for this. Um, cause I, what I wrote down, even before we started with like blocks with marketing or blocks with clients is what I was picking up, like not getting, yeah. Okay.
Speaker 1: (04:52)
I, I can’t dump a ton of money and marketing because I don’t have the extra money to do that. So it’s me, it’s my footwork. I’m out in the community like, Hey, here’s my business card. Hey, here’s my $5 off coupon, you know?
Speaker 2: (05:07)
Yes, yes, absolutely. Got It. Okay. So let me just do what I’m getting on you. Um, also, so a couple of things by picking up are a little bit blocked is, are our, I’m sorry, the, uh, do you have a website for your business? Yeah. Okay. So my cats one crazy back here. He’s running around, he’s saying hi. So you do. Okay. Um, and have you had anybody look at like where it’s ranking online? Like is it on page one? Is it page 20? Yeah,
Speaker 1: (05:40)
no. Um, there’s, we’ve tried to get into Google, so I have an apple phone. And if you don’t know this, apple doesn’t connect with Google. Well, no. So like my husband has that android phone when he leaves here and there
Speaker 2: (05:58)
like rape brush tips where my phone is like, do you want to order Mexican and Cincinnati? And I’m like, no, I don’t even live in Cincinnati. So, um, for me to connect with that Google with the phone that I have is really hard. Yeah. So that’s my excuse for that. Well, we’ll, I have a Google listing. You have a Google listing. Okay. Um, so this is just some things I’m getting about it. I feel like your website, like when people are searching for what you offer, they might not be able to find your website for some reason. So it could be like, right, well keywords are not like I can just what I’m picking up. But like the um, maybe the keywords aren’t matching or needs to do them or something like that. There’s been a complaint from a couple of people that they’re like, we can’t find it because it’s actually brushed tips, steps studio and not brush tips that come.
Speaker 2: (06:57)
People want that.com but it’s taken. And then the webpage that we use is totally different. It’s not like a.com. It’s, it’s wix. And it was super hard for me to do because I do my own webpage work, which is super frustrating. It can be hard. Yeah, absolutely. My first one, I did my first website by myself, so I try to build other ones for myself and it is, but it’s, it’s gone because that you did, I’ve never seen, I haven’t seen it yet. You have to send it to me after. But um, but yeah, so I feel like one of the things definitely is making sure that, um, there’s like a SEO thing so that if people are searching for and find you, because I do feel like there’s tons of clients out there, but it’s like they’re just not finding you as what I feel like the connection is getting there.
Speaker 2: (07:44)
Right, right. Okay. Um, and then let me just see what else. Um, the other thing I was picking up was building your community. Um, like something about social media and um, I feel like are you, did you just like, are you working on building like your community of people that would be interested in it? Like give Instagram too? I do. And I, it’s funny that you say that, cause I just talked to like a social media coach last week and they were like work on Instagram. That’s like the new Facebook and I’m like, Oh, I’m Facebook world. So it’s hard to get trendy with the new up and coming thing. So I have to make that a point. Instagram. Yes. Yes. And I was picking up like hashtags for you. Like so you can also look up for example, like, um, highest ranking or trending or like most trending hashtags for art or for um, you know, and they’ll give you a list of hashtags that people are clicking basically. And you can find just by googling it you can do. Um, and then definitely, cause I feel like if you had like your pictures and you can just tell your personality and like what you’re doing and pictures of the studio and all these different things. I feel like that’s going to help to build your audience and a lot of that stuff you can do like that part, you can do it by yourself. Right. But I do feel like part of your bread and butter might be Instagram.
Speaker 1: (09:12)
Okay. Yeah, that’s what, that’s funny because it was Friday that I mentioned that, that I was like I really have to focus on Instagram and I have to link the two Instagram with Facebook in order for those to be together. So when I post on Instagram it’s automatically posted to my Facebook.
Speaker 2: (09:30)
Absolutely. No, I totally agree. I, yeah, I feel like that would be really good. And then the hashtags and um, you know, and then let me just see what else I’m thinking that for you also, do you have like a mailing list where you can email people and let them know and still going on?
Speaker 1: (09:46)
So I don’t, but the thing that I want to get, if that text app where it shoots out, like here’s our calendar of events, you know, this week and then they can click on it, it’ll take a direct link to my webpage where then they can see the calendar of events.
Speaker 2: (10:03)
That would be really good. Cause another thing I was getting was that people may want to come back but they don’t, um, they may not know what’s going on or they need to be reminded. It’s like people get super busy and, and I even like with the marketing stuff for your business, like email stuff I tried to do like if I can, if I’m not like super crazy, but I try to do them like three days a week and you can even reset them to go out. Like you could do them on a Sunday and then they’ll go out for the week at a certain time, you know, where you don’t have to do it everyday and it’s not as stressful.
Speaker 1: (10:34)
Yeah, I would definitely have to build my email list then.
Speaker 2: (10:38)
Yes.
Speaker 1: (10:41)
So it would have to figure out how to get them to actually give me their email address. I mean I guess I have it in there like pay pal link cause I use pay pal to sodas there.
Speaker 2: (10:50)
Okay. You already yeah you can export it from there. And also too, like when they come into your studio, um, you could like just require them that like you need their email address or something or ask them if you can email them or put you on your mailing list or something and how you can have sign up. Like they could um, you know they sign up on a paper or something. But that is really gold because um, a lot of clients right now, the texting is awesome but also email is king too, especially if you get those auto one set up that way because not even when you send one email, they may not look at it, but they might look at the second one or the third one. And I feel like if you, if they’re getting these reminders that be like, oh, I need to go over there, I need to go do something with my girlfriends or something like that.
Speaker 1: (11:36)
Right. I agree.
Speaker 2: (11:39)
And the one I use as MailChimp, but they have all different,
Speaker 1: (11:43)
oh yeah.
Speaker 2: (11:45)
And it’s free for a certain amount of users.
Speaker 1: (11:48)
Right. Yeah. Cause I only have like a hundred users right now.
Speaker 2: (11:52)
You did just opening,
Speaker 1: (11:54)
but yeah. But that would really good old baby and I have to remember that like I’m not even a year old yet.
Speaker 2: (11:59)
You are a baby, so we’re, we’re helping you grow. But um, but yeah, and the, and the thing too, like with the marketing is remaining present with people. So like you want people thinking about you and like if you text them or you email them or whatever, um, you know, some people have probably seen online, but some others may not. So if you remain in their mind than the one, uh, you know, they’re already drawn to you because your personality and how you are, you know. Um, let me just see what else I’m getting. Um, the other thing you’re talking about is brilliant. So, um, marketing through connections is great. Okay. It’s really good to do that. But also, um, mark like, so connecting with people who may have like, um, like maybe their clients would be interested in what you do have to offer. That would be really good. Like people that already have like an established uh,
Speaker 1: (12:55)
building and um, girls night out in church communities. I do a lot of those events too. So that helps.
Speaker 2: (13:04)
Yes. And also connecting with whoever runs them.
Speaker 1: (13:08)
Yeah. Yeah. That’s great. That’s good idea.
Speaker 2: (13:12)
Yes. And also sometimes to, um, you can offer people like, like for example, like a referral code or just like, you know, like let’s just say they’re going to refer people to you and make a deal where you like give them some money or something for referring people and that it works really well in a lot of people do that. I don’t know if it could work for yours, but just a thought because sometimes people get married
Speaker 1: (13:34)
times that I do like, um, like our summer camp promotion that I did. So they signed up and then they referred a friend and their friend said, hey, I signed you up. Then they got $10 to come back. Sorry, my battery’s, it’s okay. Bumping us out. Um, then I tell him, I told him, okay, you have $10 to come back. So
Speaker 2: (13:58)
that’s good. I love it. Yeah. Yeah. So, um, let me just think of what else I’m getting. Um, yeah, and just kind of maybe brainstorm on like, you know, I don’t know for your company, it’s like, so who could, who may have a lot of clients that they already are like that they already have, but they could send people to you and there might be more than you’re thinking about, but I would brainstorm on that and then try to connect with them. And do you ever go to networking meetings as well?
Speaker 1: (14:24)
No. And there’s a few around here. Um, and again, they want cash to be part of their network needing him and justify that right now. So, I mean, I can’t go to my husband and be like, hey, we got to pay $500 a year to we in this networking meeting and this son. I mean he would be more than happy to if we had an income from it. So
Speaker 2: (14:53)
yeah,
Speaker 1: (14:53)
I have to be very careful.
Speaker 2: (14:55)
Yes, I totally understand. Oh yeah, totally. Well if you, so, and the thing, so the thing about what we talked about like the um, texting people, I love that. The email stuff, I love that referral bonuses. I love that. MMM. If like even doing deaths, this is going to get you more money right away. No, that’s fingers crossed and just doing this and beacon get with it. That’s the thing with the issue. Like for a lot of small business owners, just like their number one, like some of our, not marketing and all that, it’s not good to do that. But the other thing is too, some inconsistencies with it. But like if you’re consistent and you keep doing it, then people will know. And then just also you’re really good at being creative and making things fun. And it’s like emailing someone and saying girl’s night, Friday night, you know, couples night Wednesday. And like if you tell them, they’re like, wow, you know, or like a, you know, a mother’s Day special where every mom gets a rose and they can paint with their kids or you know, something like that. I was picking up to kind of meditate and pray on like special themes are really fun, unique things that could get people. I think you’re really good at that though, but I was picking up like that. Something about that.
Speaker 1: (16:08)
Yeah. Yeah, I do like that idea. Um, somebody was like, we should do like an eighties night, which was great because then we could do like a pop art.
Speaker 2: (16:17)
Yeah. Art who doesn’t love the eighties. So I think that that would be a lot of fun.
Speaker 1: (16:24)
Um, especially for the moms around here, I feel like they’re so, and you know, being a mom, so involved in sports and just everything and craziness with their kids running around and it’ll really make a lot of time for themselves. So definitely, you know, focus on some of the mom activities happening.
Speaker 2: (16:44)
Yeah. Oh yeah. And also, yeah. And going where other moms are and yeah, there’s a mosque for free, like a mom meet up group or something like that. You could go to the, you know, the mom meetup group and um, you know, something like that. But yeah, I feel like if you keep doing what you’re doing, your connections and then activate this like list and email people, that will be really good. And then when we have a little extra money, like making sure that your business is on the first page but organically is really good. So that’s where it’s like the keywords on your website. Um, cause if not like for paid advertising, you’re just kind of like you’re paying and you’re just losing that like, Oh, don’t end up, you know what I mean? So, but I feel like even with this and just finding the hashtags and the Instagram and all of that, I feel like I was going to start to get you money right away.
Speaker 1: (17:36)
So that’s what I’ve been trying to do with just growing myself organically.
Speaker 2: (17:40)
Yes.
Speaker 1: (17:41)
Um, because I know that with the paid advertising, people tend to look over it.
Speaker 2: (17:46)
Yes. Um, and
Speaker 1: (17:50)
I, I think I definitely want to go organically as much as possible because I, and I want to be, I liked doing the footwork for my business. I like knowing that I, you know, put my blood, sweat and tears into this and I’ve built this amazing empire, so,
Speaker 2: (18:06)
yeah, absolutely. No, it’s, that’s how I did mine. And then I just started hiring people to assist me with things. Um, but yeah, it’s like, you know, yeah, I’ve got the business that covers itself. That’s great. But, but it’s also at praying and asking like God, creator and the universe to like for what you need per month as well, and putting it out there like at maybe at the beginning of the month, how much money you’d like to generate. Right, right. Do that good idea. No, no. When I, when I am doing it or
Speaker 1: (18:40)
praying or meditating, I’m saying, you know, thank you for the studio. Please bring me people that I can inspire. Please bring me people that you know, look at me as their light and that I can be a friend to them and guide them.
Speaker 2: (18:54)
And I’m not asking for money in particular. Um,
Speaker 1: (18:59)
because this is where a big block comes in, is I don’t know if I
Speaker 2: (19:04)
serve that month
Speaker 1: (19:06)
and I don’t know if I’m worthy of that kind of money or do you know what I mean? Like I have,
Speaker 2: (19:13)
okay. Yeah. Walk on that. So that’s
Speaker 1: (19:18)
a big part of, I think what the issue is too.
Speaker 2: (19:21)
The blocks that I have mentally about money. Well, yeah, but also too, if you can think of it like this, like what if money is just energy? And what if, like, if you had more money coming in, could you create more to help others? Like if you’re called lightning and to help them, it’s like, yes, you could pay yourself, which will be awesome because then you could do cool things for your kids and you think, well, things for you or whatever you want to do. Um, and then, but if you had additional money, I’m going to switch to the phone charger. No, no, it’s almost done anyways. No worries. But anyways, but like also too, like if you had like additional money coming in, you know you could use that to help others. You can invest it back into your business. But I totally know what you mean.
Speaker 2: (20:09)
And I, I agree with you. I think that part of it is going to be for you being okay to receive. Yeah. That’s what I need to get to the point of being okay to receive. Yes. Yes. And not being, not being freaked out that that others will judge me on making money. Yes, absolutely. Yeah. I really need to focus on that because I do freak out about that and I also find myself telling people and they don’t even ask. I’m like, just so you know, I don’t get paid for the TV show or just so you know, I don’t really get paid here. I don’t, you know, there’s nothing to pay me so I’m not getting paid. And I feel, and I don’t know why I tell people that. Wow. It’s almost like a guilt thing. Yeah. Well and like, but also too, it’s like, what if you are like, let’s just say your business becomes very successful and oh my God had one crazy over flies.
Speaker 2: (21:20)
Um, he’s always playing. But like, but what if like what is by you stepping into your power, your light, receiving money for your services, your time showing women out there like, Hey, I had a dream and this is what I did. What if you’re like by you accepting and receiving that that you can inspire others to do the same thing, right. Invite them into that energy with you. And it’s like, cause when we get empowered him, uh, we received, we invite all other women and men to join us to receive with us. Right, right. Yeah. So definitely then just a lot of meditating on receiving and it’s okay. And I tell myself all the time like, it’s okay to make money. There’s people out there that make $1 million to make $1 million. It is, it totally is. Yeah. And it, and you can still be a good person to make money.
Speaker 2: (22:13)
You can stay. That’s, I worry too that people might think it’ll change me. Yeah, of course. Yeah, of course. Well, the end, you know, people are gonna judge you anyways. Like if you’re not making any money are, if you’re super wealthy, they’re gonna judge you anyways. But what I do is cause you know, like we’re, we’re very sensitive to other people’s energy. So it’s, I just say I’m not going to absorb other people’s judgments or energies. I’m aware of it, but I don’t want to take it on because it’s not, you know. Yeah. That’s good. That’s good. I’ll remember that. Yes. But I would love, yeah, I think that the key, like the physical stuff is the marketing stuff and being consistent with even the stuff we talked about that will get you money right away just by doing that. But also just being in prayer and meditation, like just closing your eyes and breathing and just saying, okay, I’m open to receive. I’m worthy, I’m deserving. Um, as I step into my power, I’m inviting other women to join me and it just, whatever you want to like kind of there, I would start doing that. And then when you feel comfortable putting out there and saying, God, you know, universe, creator, however you want to say it, um, you know, I am inviting $10,000 a month or more for this month or whatever, you know, whatever your money, all you want to put out there. Right, right. Okay. Ask Him.
Speaker 2: (23:37)
I’m going to write down that too, cause that’s a good one. Inviting. I’m inviting this into my life. I’m inviting clients into my life. I’m activating my clients, I’m activating, you know, it’s like that’s what it’s all about because you’re, you’re here. It’s not just for you, your students, not just about painting. And it’s, it’s about energy of unconditional love, acceptance, helping people to heal. And they don’t even know their healing. It’s, they don’t realize that there’s something deeper and very powerful going on with your business and you know, and it’s okay to be compensated for that.
Speaker 1: (24:12)
Yeah. That’s what I, and that’s what I try to remember. It’s like, okay, I’m, I have this talent that was given to me and now I’m using it and I’m helping people, but I want to help more people. But I don’t want to charge them because I should be giving it to them for free, but I have to make a living at the same time. So my brain, like that’s how it works all day long. And I’m just like, ah,
Speaker 2: (24:39)
well, and if it’s their spots in there that you don’t want to have any more, it’s like, no, cancel, cancel. You know? But no. Yeah, because we can’t, I mean, that’d be like going to the grocery store and being like, okay, I’m going to buy all these groceries and you know, I’m not, I’m not going to pay for them, but is that okay with you? And they’d be like, no, sorry ma’am, you have to leave. Right.
Speaker 1: (24:59)
I have to remember too, it’s like they pay $7 for two cookies down the bakery down the road. So yeah. Yes. I think it’s okay that I could sell my surf. I’m paying $7 for free cookies. Totally. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. So I have to remember that. Oh, totally. In not only selling, okay. A painting class as I’m selling my personality and they’re having a good time and they’re connecting with me and there’s people out there that just really look for me, look at me like a big inspiration to them. And there’s a lot of people that really, truly are happy just to know me through this business. And I love it.
Speaker 2: (25:51)
I love it. I think it’s beautiful. Yeah. So, yeah, so I hope that helps. And a, yeah, the meditation prayer of being open to receive, asking for numbers, that’s important when a lot of listing money. Um, and then the fee, the human part of it is the marketing part. And I, if you can do those things, your business will probably shift a lot in the next couple of weeks to month. I could probably really shifting the way I and get him over what you’ve been making.
Speaker 1: (26:16)
Yeah, I have written down, so I’m definitely gonna work on that. And um, I have a couple of other things that I want to put on that list too, that I want to work at. So I think that’s, you’re gonna help a lot and definitely in a lily reminding myself that it’s okay. I’m, I’m worthy enough to make money. I am worthy enough to live. And
Speaker 2: (26:44)
it’s okay to do that. Yes. I love it. Just reminded myself. It’s awesome. No, it’s perfect. Yeah. Okay. Awesome. Well, thank you for spending this time with me and I hope it was helpful. It was, it was talking to you is super helpful. Well, let me go close. Keep, keep in touch. Okay. I will. I will. Thank you so much. You’re welcome. Talk to you soon. Bye, honey. Bye.
